So what’s the deal with Pure Barre?!


You guys. I’ve found my new favorite form of exercise. If you’ve been around here for very long, you know I like to switch it up. I still call myself a runner, even though I haven’t run for probably two months because I have a love/hate relationship with running. I do it a lot because I love it, but then I get burnt out and need to take a break.

I’m in one of those break periods of the year, so I needed to find a different way to exercise to keep me busy. I’ve done yoga, which I loved, but it’s so expensive to do without a deal around here! So I got a Groupon to try Pure Barre a few weeks ago.

And now I’m hooked.

For those of y’all who’ve never tried a Barre class, it’s like a mixture of ballet, aerobics, yoga and strength training, all wrapped up into 1 hour of listening to fun, upbeat music and putting your body to work! The studio looks like a ballet studio, with mirrors everywhere and the ballet barre around the room.

I’ve been going to three classes a week consistently with some friends, and I can already see changes in my body… it’s pretty exciting. I feel a lot stronger, and when I was getting ready the other day I noticed I actually have arm muscles! As something who has always had stronger legs than arms… I am PUMPED!

On a side note, I got my first pair of legitimate yoga pants (aka not running pants) from last month! And they have a great holiday shop guide for your Christmas shopping pleasure 🙂
